This past weekend a few of my buddies and I went to the White Mountains in NH for our annual climbing trip. This year we did Mt.Washington and without a doubt,it was the most beautiful day I have ever spent there. In the past,we have encountered horrible conditions with the wind and cold but Saturday was a rare day of clear skies, low wind and amazing visibility. As a result,we set a personal record of a 4 and a half hour ascent and a 2 and a half hour descent.

.Myself,(far left) and the boys leaving.

.The first hour and a half slog up a snow cat trail.

.Things start getting steep on what is known as the "Lions head winter route".

.Moving above tree line across the "Alpine Garden

.Rob,myself and "Luigi".(My son insisted he travel in my pack.)

feet.......Fairly modest as far as big mountains go but as they say, what it lacks in altitude it makes up in attitude.:)
