so i finished my radio install but when the system is paused there is noise (light hiss) coming from the speakers. louder at louder volumes. it is the same weather the engine is on or off. the power wires run down the drivers side, and the rca's run down the passengers side. they are only close for about 15 in. under the drivers seat. the noise does not go away if i move them. Any help? Thanks

I'd see about replacing the cord that hooks to the iPod

its the alpine full speed cable for the newer headunits. could this be a cause? i've read online of others having similar issues, but most of them were using an AUX jack.

I've only had that problem using the aux jack as well but never with the full speed cable so I'd say it's possible the cable is bad.

That's where I was going as well :) Since the cables can be spendy, try to borrow one.
