Browning Buck Marks are great and you can change out a barrel without replacing the seralized part if that's important to you. Ruger makes great semi-autos as well, and it's basically six of one, half dozen of the other. P22s feel cheaper to me and had issues out of the gate. Their reputation has improved in the last few years as it seems they have stepped up their QC.

My Buck Mark wTacSol barrel and SWR suppressor:

How much do the brownings go for? I feel like I'd enjoy the most an MKll because they don't have the extra things on the MKlll, but you guy are saying good things about the Browning. I don't think I'll end up with a P22 as I'd like something with a better rep and a longer history and it seems like the Ruger has that and is a more reliable pistol than the others. However I can't find one locally and I need someone in my family to purchase since I'm not 21

I would not reccomend a sig mosquito. they hate every type of ammo (although to be fair, it say its optomized for CCI) and fail to feed/fire and function quite often. I bought one, shot it once at the range and sold it. Ruger or browning IMHO.

Haha yeah I read about the Sig Mosquito and I didn't like the reviews. I will check out Gander this weekend to see if they have a Browning/Ruger. Thanks for the advice guys.

I have this Taurus 941 eight shot 22mag. 4inch barrel. Very reliable, fairly inexpensive.

I like it a lot! Really acurate and has a pretty good sound to it too haha, bark is louder than the bite.

Yeah I read bad things about the Taurus, I am however finding very good things about the Single Six though. I am finding different prices for them so not sure what they usually go for.

First handgun I ever bought - they're of minimal quality but not junk. Bought it for $100 or so from a little shop, sold it for the same a couple years later. Expect poor wood to metal fit and a finish that won't last, but there are worse ways to drop $100.

Ruger, Browning, or a S&W. I have all three with about 5000+ down each with garbage ammo without any problems. Walther died at about 2500+ rounds, pot metal die casting in the action started to fall apart and hang, FTE, and finally FTF. Works great as a coat hanger in the gun room.

Single six wouldn't be bad either. Cheap used and usually come with a .22lr and .22WMR cylinder. Of course, you could go commando and get the Keltec PLR-22. Crazy looking, but if its as good as the PLR-16, I'd recommend it. I just grabbed a PMR30, great gun with a ridiculous magazine capacity and zero problems in 500 rounds. .22WMR is A LOT more expensive than .22lr, though.

If I can find a Single Six at Gander for under 400 that's most likely what I'll get

I know the Judge has had a lot of problems. My buddy's has been sent back a couple times. This gun has given me absolutely zero problems for the last 2 years. Maybe I got lucky, but after reading reviews on this, and with my experience, I still recommend it. And you said it: lifetime warranty.

I am also thinking about a .22 pistol...shooting my .45 is too expensive for a poor college kid. I've heard that the screws holding the Buckmarks together loosen over time due to recoil. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Alright so I went to Gander today and the Ruger Single Six was way too much @ 550.00. So I think my two choices are the Ruger MKlll 22/45 @ 330.00 or the Browning Blackhawk @ 350.00. Also, is there a way to get rid of the new stuff they added to the MKlll?
