Office Pranks, I need some suggestions

Ok, so my engineer went home to Albania and came home without us messing with his office, but all is not lost.

While getting material ideas ready we talked with one of our admin who let us know that our general manager was going on a three week vacation to Europe. The best part is that he used to be my boss when he first started with the company four years ago. The "2 week" rule was originally his. His idea is that if we can do without you for two weeks then we really don't need you. That's a little rough, but it's how he thinks. Well, the day has come to return the favor.

I purchased the FOAM IT 1202 class 1 open cell foam kit from here.

The kit will cover 1200 sq. ft of his office in one inch of foam.

The plan is to cover the walls, floor, and furniture in black plastic drop cloth and seal it with packing tape. We'll then coat everything, excluding the ceiling, in foam. This is going to be the biggest prank we've pulled. I even have financial backing from one of our affiliates.

Don't worry, pictures and video will be coming. More than likely we'll get started next week.

Ok, so I have been behind most of the pranks pulled here at my office, but I'm running out of ideas. Our standing rule is that if someone goes on vacation for 2 weeks, 10 consecutive business days, then they're fair game. I'll give you a run down of what we've done so far.

Female engineer







Male project manager. We did this to him while he was on his honeymoon. Yes, that's black pallet wrap. Everything was wrapped and then wrapped to itself.



Male engineer. He is a really nice guy, and he's from Albania. He goes home every year or so for an extended period. We have only gotten him once because it doesn't seem sporting to get him year after year. This year is different though. He helped in getting me so paybacks are a bitch. More on that in a bit.

We filled his cube with the paper from the recyling bins.




Female engineer

This one was a little lacking in planning, seeing how I didn't plan it. Our office likes to order tons of business cards, and inevitably we change buildings or phone numbers and the cards are useless. This is a good use for them.



Male engineer.

It doesn't look that bad until you realise that all of the cups are filled with water.



THE BOSSES OFFICE

He knew better than to let his vacation run that long. This was right around halloween so this theme seemed appropriate. There is even a skeleton in his chair who is wearing my bosses glasses.

This prank is where things start getting interesting.




My boss didn't really like that he got pranked, he swore revenge. In April I went to Holland with my girlfriend for a week. I was out of the office for 5 days. My boss came up with a new rule that they could take a day off of the 10 day rule for every prank that person pulled. Well, they finally got me. It was pretty good, but they made a mess. Each of the baloons had confetti in it, including hole punch, metallic stuff, coffee grounds, coffee creamer, and water. Needless to say that they made an absolute mess. Most of my pranks have been clean. Well the gloves are off.






So here's the deal. My engineer that is from Albania is going home again, in fact he left today. I have two weeks to come up with a plan and execute it. I have able and willing bodies here at the office to help, but we need some direction. We do not want to repeat any of the above pranks and we're not looking to spend a fortune either.

So, I ask you for your help. Give me some ideas.

AWESOME pranks! My thoughts are that most already used above are hard to beat...

 

Damn, where the hell do you work?!?!

You could put everything into jello molds like the stapler, mouse, etc. Or, if you have the means, mount everything upside down on the ceiling (not always possible and not easy to pull off). Completely dismantle and pack up everything in the office, chair, desk, cube, computer and componets and just set them in place where they used to be. Recreate everything in cardboard and rebuild the office (I saw that once, it was pretty neat). It seems like you guys have already pulled off some good ones!

 

Go to a shipping store get those stupid peanuts, i hate those but they're cheap and fun!!

I'm lucky in that our company lets this stuff slide. My old boss, now the General Manager was the instigator in all of this, so we're good.

We have drop ceilings so hanging a heavy desk, chairs, computer, etc would be hard to do. I like the idea though.

Packing peanuts were pretty expensive the last time I looked, at least in the volume we'd need. I'm not going to do this half ass, the office would have to be filled.

Keep in mind the layout of the office. It is a double occupancy office meaing that there is a cube wall splitting it down the middle.

Keep the ideas coming.

 

I would go with some form of caulking and just glue everything in place. Bonus if everything looks untouched. I think you could find something that would scrap off ok once you got it to break loose. Phone to base, keyboard, mouse, drawers, anything on the desk to the desk. Swivel on the chair, wheels, adjustment knobs.

 

The key would be to get something that would come off after we're done. I don't want to destroy anything.

 

One idea mimics the grass in the keyboard from the first prank. I have an indoor garden in my apartment and to keep everything growing nicely I have a 1000 watt grow light. (not what you're thinking)

I could line the floor with plastic and put potting soil down, plant annual rye grass and let it grow. It would grow about 4 inches before he came back.

 

lol do that and make a mini golf course out of their office with lego golfers or something

 

I wish I had something creative to add subbed for the turn out. The cardboard suite looks like a funny idea... but that could be $$$

 

All of my pranks are more subtle than the ones you have done, but based on yours, hmmm....maybe you could disassemble all of the furniture and leave it in neat stacks? Or maybe paint the walls a truly disgusting god-awful color and put down matching shag carpeting and furniture to match also?

Good idea, but it doesn't have enough of the "holy shit" factor. We had considered doing a 4" thick block of ballistic gell on the top of his desk but the cooking of the gellatin kind of put us off.
