I need to replace the OEM shocks in my 99 Tacoma 4x4. I have read here that people sometimes sell their lightly used Bilstein shocks if they have upgraded. I am willing to buy something that will fit my truck if you have them to sell. Let me know.

I'm also going to replace the rear leaf springs which broke as well. Those will be $193 ea. from a local place.

    Thanks!

Im about put on some new suspension but funding ran low. If you want mine, how long can you wait? They have ~100k on them.

100k miles? Hm... there's only 70k on the ones I have. I guess I will pass on that offer, but thanks. :)

I've been meaning to ask -- I've never heard the term 2nd and 1st generation. What's the difference?

On some auto parts web sites, it looks like the compatible years for shocks are below, so I don't think an '08 would fit. :-(

Has anyone tried Old Man Emu (OME?) shocks? I'm reading about them and people are saying they ride more smoothly and not as stiff as Bilsteins. N91 and N86 would be the part numbers for the 99 Tacoma 4x4 I think.

Noy\t sure about the billys or about first gens but my OME's do not ride smooth. That being said I still do like them do to the fact that my truck drives like a car and holds in the corners.

rcbs, What year is your Tacoma? If you're replacing the whole thing, including the rear leaf springs and shocks, that would be ideal, since my right rear leaf is broken. What shocks are they and how many miles on the front and rear springs you'll be replacing?

    Thanks!

Oh yes, I see now. OK, so the fronts all I need are the shocks... I think my springs are still OK. How about the rear shocks?
