Got my Supercharger installed. I wont post a picture because you all know what they look like!
decided not to put the new injectors and piggyback controller on due to my going on a week long trip next week. She'll need more tune time for that.
For those of you worries about paying for someone to install your supercharger.... DON'T. It took my and a buddy less than 5 hours total to do the entire install.... and we had to fab up a throttle cable bracket and buy new vaccume lines. (olds were to short)
Heres a video of a gentle pull, she's no speed demon but get up alot more than she use to.... Cold air intake and header-back exhaust is on the way:)

Sorry! "Annabelle" is a 2000 ext cab, trd offroad, 3.4, 5-speed. 120K on the motor. Newly SUPERCHARGED!!!! She also sports a color-matched leer camper top, a yakima roof rack, and a pretty little brunette in the front seat every now and then

Nice. you should post a similar vid but with the tach as well.

So i guess you're not afraid of adding a supercharger to a 120k plus motor? thats good, since my motor has similar miles. but then again you have the manual tranny, which might be sturdier than the auto and better for a supercharger.

As long as the engine is in good condition, milage shouldnt matter.

This is true? How about slapping a SC kit on a motor that has 160k miles?

Like I said, as long as the engine is in good condition, it shouldnt hurt it.

I believe 160,000 isgettin up there..... I was leary at 120 but i've always taken over-the-top care of mine, full synthetic oil changes, always on the low side of the recomended time frame. Timing belts early, etc. Get the Manufacturer setup with the 2.37" drive pully and be happy with her. Don't worrie about how high you can crank up the boost... You'll just keep going and going until she pops.

    Injectors and controlers...?????????????
Excuse me guys but i'm too green to know the difference in functionality with the injectors and controlers and without the injectors and controlers. What difference would it make if you have 'em or if you dont. And the reason that i'm asking is cuz i;m interested in installing a SC in my truck. Thanks guys.

Sorry for the delay! As i'm sure you know, the supercharger forces more air into your motor, hence the term "forced Induction". With the stock 2.37" pully, the Tacoma's Ecu can regulate injecting more fuel as well so your motor doesn't run lean. If you want to go to a smaller pully, which will spin the Supercharger faster with each RPM, you need bigger injectors to flow more fuel to the motor to keep the equillbrium. With the bigger injectors, you will need a piggyback controller to help regulate the Air/Fuel mixture as the stock ECU wasn't set up for this kind of change.

As for gas milage, the first couple tanks i dropped to around 15mpg, because i was driving like a fool:). I regularly drive from St. Louis to Louisville, which is almost exactly one tank of gas... at 75mph with the cruise on i can get 16.42..... which is only a couple tenths shy of the 16.67 i use to get. So i only lost .25mpg. Not to shabby considering the impressive gains.

    Tyler
