I have an Impulse Red AC TRD OR and I have gone with a chrome theme versus black because Impulse Red is a darker color and chrome will stand out more than black will on this color.

I'm gonna go ahead and give my standard repsonse. I always think black accessories look better. I think it's more subtle and makes your truck look mean or pissed off, which is the way a truck should look. Most people don't agree with my stance on black add ons but those are my thoughts on the subject

I agree, but if you have a chrome grill + chrome rear bumper - you may want to stick with chrome.

Not a chrome fan but I too have the impulse read and chrome grill / bumper.

I'd have to say chrome bull gaurd, or black brush guard.

black would be a better choice if you want simplicity and a rugged look, chrome is more flashy and fun looking. that's a woman's p.o.v. on it :)

Just do not buy a Hunter guard. They are junk. They vibrate a lot when you drive. I got their guard last year and it rusts badly just after a few months. They do not honor their warranty and ignored my calls. I do not recommand anyone buying Hunter Truck products.

I also would get the black. I have black nerf bar running boards.(May be taking them off soon). I like the black against the red.

I am a big fan of the stainless steel. Not as bright and shiny as the chrome (minimal difference) but I overall think it looks better.

I have impulse red and I got stainless steel nerfs & when I get my bull bar it will be Stainless steel. The bars really make the chrome tacoma badge pop out.

I will always vote for the chrome/stainless. However, I don't think you can go wrong either way. I think the important thing is to be consistent. Either go all black with your accessories or all chrome, a combination just doesn't look right.

I would also like to counter the previous comment about Hunter4x4 products being junk. I have no experience with the brush guard but I have had the Hunter bull bar for a couple months and it has been perfect. It is rock solid with absolutely no vibration and the stainless is in perfect condition.

Chrome is for show...black is for...go? I don't have anything to put there that rhymes, but basically, I look at it like this...if you put chrome on your truck, you're showing off, and you'll never want to use it. If you ever will use it, you want black because with proper shielding (of the over-spray) you can always paint away any scratches, etc. If you're buying for looks, go with chrome if you want to...if you're buying to use it, go with black.

I noticed that too. That guy signed on and posted twice with the same message (one in an old thread). I wonder what his beef is with Hunter.
