Huh, Sorry for the questions, don't know any atheists.
So when you die, you believe it is like when an animal dies? Its just over?
You do realize that Humans are the only creature on earth that are self aware.
Meaning we know our fate. Just sayin.

How depressing!.....to go through life not believing in some sort of after-life or salvation. I've driven through Joplin Mo three times since the F5 hit and to see all the devastation and thousands of homes decimated and to hear the stories of survival in bath tubs and inner hallways or closets and how everyone has banded together to help one another and see so many crosses standing amidst the destruction and only 134 deaths......only reaffirms my faith.

thats exactly my point we are the only thing alive that is sentient being on the planet= truth. however humans are notorious for getting things completely wrong! we are also known for our awesome creativity at times so combine the two and you have the construct for religion. btw i believe when i die i go to black zip the end. now my dogs! i believe they go to that rainbow bridge my little ones i would give anything for. that rainbow bridge poem makes me sleep better at night. thats as spiritual as i get homie.. and even then i know that poem was probably written by some overweight crazy lady in middle america who is religious lol.

Among other things in the bible are mentions of slavery as being completely acceptable and that if a woman's husband dies, she is to marry his brother, produce a male heir and that son will inherit his dead father's estate.

The bible also forbids homosexuality (leviticus, Romans) while I have nothing against it. I dont choose it as my own way of life and its none of my business what someone else does with their personal life. Some of my favorites are 1 Samuel 15:22 and the book of Proverbs for what it has to say about money and friendship

Its well known that the bible, aside from being the "word of God" is very much the word of man. Many parts have been edited, left out and altogether lost. Ghandi himself was famously quoted as saying: "I like your Christ, I dislike your Christians - your are so unlike your Christ"
