The nerve of some people

This was a while back but i have to get it out...
I just got done washing and waxing and detailing my truck for 2 DAYS!! I decided to take my truck out to Tiger Town ( a cool shopping center in Auburn,AL) to go to Target to exchange my iPod Nano. i was in there for maybe 20 minutes and when i came back out someone parked right next to me (really close) and so to see how close they were before i pulled out. And i looked at my truck when i was turning back around to get into the drivers side and this 3-4 inch scratch caught my eye on the passenger access door. I AM MAD.... STILL about it!!!

Oh at Kroger i parked away from everyone like i usually do and when i came back out there was a Nissan Frontier, Ford F-150, and a 1st. Tacoma surrounding me!!!!

I am amazed that so many people either don't know how to park or don't care. I always try to park as far away as I can and try to park where I think I will be less likely to get my truck damaged by inconsiderate people. Even then, it's not a sure thing. I don't blame you, I would be mad too. Remember, you can't fix stupid.

 

Some people should take drivers ed again hah

 

i feel your pain... one day i was driving about 2 weeks ago and looked in my sideview mirror and noticed a forehead sized dent next to the gas tank door.... so therefor im hoping it was their forehead

 

I hate stuff like this. That's why I intentionally hunt for a parking spot that's close to an central island or that's bordered by one cement island.

This way, I park far away from the other car's door swing path.

My only regret in doing this was that the lawn maintenance guys were cutting tree limbs next to the truck, but no damage.

 

Get some DOM or HREW sliders. They can prevent a lot of door dings if they're out far enough. Plus, they're tough as nails. Anyone who dents those did some serious damage to their own vehicle.

 

That happened twice on my old Neon. With my new Taco, I try to park as far away as I can from other vehicles. When I have to park close to the store, I try to park beside nicer/newer/more expensive vehicles since they're likely to be just as concerned about their car. I also try to avoid parking next to minivans or other "family" vehicles since kids tend to throw the doors open without looking.

 

Exactly. Park next to a 740i or an A8 and you'll probably never get your truck scratched. Unless some rich bitch drives it.

 

The only problem with this tactics is while you're in the store and that new expensive vehicle moves out and is replaced by some morons.

I don't think it's the vehicle, it think it's more the person. No matter what they drive, expensive or a load, they just are not aware of others stuff.



Try finding the island and parking as close to it, this way you only have a car on one side and you can control the distance between you and it by parking away.

I did a bad thing though sometimes, I park with both wheel actually ON the island and leave about 4-5 feet gap between me and the other vehicle, since mine's lifted. This is the closest off roading experience I've had as well.

 

I got a ticket for mounting the curb once. Be careful with that one.

As frustrating as it is, it could be worse. I bought my '07 Tacoma February 2007 brand new. I had it less than six months and someone keyed the side, a long scratch from near the headlight all the way back onto the access cab door.

When it's intentionally, it somehow feels a lot worse.

 

I have no problem with people parking at the back of the lot. It's the people who see the need to park in the middle of four spots that piss me off.
