So, my Truck has been having symptoms of a bad battery for the last few days and this morning it finally died on me. Any recommendations on a new battery? I was thinking of getting an optima, or a DuraLast.. My truck is an 09, with 39XXX miles on it.. Is it possible that I might be able to get an OEM battery for free if it's still under warranty? Money is tight right now, and I don't want to spend 200+ on a new battery.

then don't bro...you live in LA, so you don't need anything beefy, just get one that will turn your truck over..all decent brands have huge warranties anyway so you'll be covered

Should still be covered under warranty. Otherwise the Optima battery is your best bet. Duralasts are cheap and don't last but will work ok.

I would call your service rep at the dealership if you are still under the warranty They will replace it for you.

Have the alternator checked before you buy a new battery. Batteries should last at least four or five years of normal use.

That is weird that your battery died. Mine just did the same thing and I have 34k miles on mine and it too is a 2009.

It's only having problems trying to get the truck started.. It was struggling to get started for the last few days. So more than likely it's my battery not my Alternator.. I hope...

I talked to my friend that owns a 08 Camry, he told me his battery died in 2 years and a week right after his car turned 2 years old. So it is common with the Toyota OEM Batteries.

Start checking wires man, and battery terminals for corrosion

Edit: Nevermind your a 2010, start checking for loose wires

If the alternator isn't keeping the battery fully charged, it would produce the same symptoms.

I once replaced a battery and then found, when the new battery also failed, that the real problem was a corroded-through negative main ground. Repaired that and it was fine...the original battery was probably fine too, just running down as the car struggled to charge through bad wiring on short trips.

If you are running a big power amp you may be exceeding hte alternator's output which will slowly kill your battery. Many high amp stereo installations need a bigger alternator.
