I have an '07 Taco with 90,000 miles on it that I bought new. I've never noticed any road noise until about 3,000 miles ago. I've been running BFG T/A's, but just switched today to Grabber AT2's. I've searched thru the forum and couldn't seem to find this exact question. Does anyone know why the road noise would be more apparent now? I believe it's comming from the tires as the noise increases as the speed goes up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Quite a few guys on here have had to replace their front hub bearings before the 100K mark. That may be what you are hearing.

yup i also think it could be a hub bearing.
can you tell what corner the noise is coming from?

Not sure what corner the noise is comming from. I have the dealership looking at it now. I'll update when the dealer tells me his B.S.

My AT2's are very quiet so I doubt its the tires.

I'm sure now that it's not the tires, but i thought that if my bearings are going out, the noise or vibration would change. For example, going around corners. The only time the noise / vibration changes is when the speed changes.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. They can be very loud when they go.

Just spoke with the dealer. My front left bearing is going out. If it's just the bearing, it will be 4 hours in labor and $662.00. He's not sure if the bearing froze to the hub...if that's the case, I'm looking at $878.00.

    CRAP!

    Ay Caramba
My driver side is going too and I am at $38 k miles so they sure a crap.
Glad I dont have to pay for the change will do it myself.
BTW ask them if new bearings are Koyo. When I am changing my wheel bearing, I am going with Koyo pack from NAPA. They should last little longer.
