I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, are you?

While I don't have a front bumper yet, no sliders, and no belly armor, I do have the ATO rear bumper.

but, 280 miles before the light comes on, that seems like a little bit to me. How many miles would you go before installing the snorkel when the light would come on? (I hope that makes sense  )

Ya, I know you have way more weight on your truck than I do, but damn, I just hope, my mileage drops like crazy when I finally get my Relentless aluminum front bumper w/ sliders installed. I haven't seen any mpg difference since installing the ATO rear bumper.

So if you wanna wait, I was just contacted by a local guy who has a 4 cylinder and wants some help installing a snorkel if he buys one. If he goes through with it I will document the install so all your worries can be addressed.

So did you actually cut into that upper piece. I had thought about doing it but and may down the road depending on how well the set up I'm running now holds up, but I was under the impression that that part was structural and I'd probably want to box it in. We'll see.

i had to cut the inner fender about an inch up not a big deal and nothing structural about it

Looks pretty clean. Good job. But like I said to everyone, I would seriously consider swapping those 2 90's for 2 45's. Right at the first clamp closest to tHe fender, if it were mine, I would order a 45 degree coupling. Any old one will work, hell even the ebay ones took 9 PSI on my turbo build a few years back. Then get a mandrel bent metal 45 for the top and a few straight couplings to route it. Just another option to ponder

I installed mine on saturday with CoTacoTRD, thanks for the help man. We ended up doing the same thing he did with the exhaust pipe bent to two 45 degree angles. Also for those of you who have not done it yet, I would suggest moving the template back about 1/2 inch. I did this and that rubber hose that attaches to the snorkel fits smack dab in the middle of the pre-cut intake hole. my fingers fit between the hose and inner fender all the was around. I also did not have a huge gap between the snorkel and the fender like some have had, not sure if i tighted enought to bend the fender under the snorkel or not, but you cant see and bending of the fender outseide the snorkel.

Ill get a better picture once the sun moves a little bit, but here is the final product

first one is of the antenna alignment, its alittle off, but not bad at all. Second one is of the "exhaust" pipe bent to two 45 degree angles, third is of the bottom of the "exhaust" tube going to the snorkel, to show gap at bottom of hole, fourth is the same as third, just shoing the gap around the top side.

It looks like there is no gap on the fourth picture, but i can stick my pinky between the hole and pipe.

A small handful of select mods.

Yeah install was very clean this go round. Literary 1/2 inch back on the template made it a perfect fit. Longest part of the day was sourcing the damn exhaust pipe for the intake. :D

yea i got some pvc pipe and couplings im gonna try to use for my install in a week or so...i know plastic conducts less heat then metal and i have no local exhaust shops near me..

has anyone made there own from pvc before? i made a complete cold air intake this way for a highschool kid years back and it actually worked and looked awsome and lasted too...

i imagaine you could do it with a few short pieces of PVC a couple of 45 degree turns and a longer piece in the middle. let us know how it goes!
