obviously a well thought out, educated reaction. i wouldnt quite know how to respond if someone had said something like that to me.

 

It was not a dirty hit , it was late and Horton should have had his head up

It's not rule 48 and I garauntee you he won't be suspended

 

Head was up-It was a late (interference) lateral hit, targeted at the head (rule 48.1). Dirty way to play.

rule 48 is for lateral/blindside hits, does not apply for north south hits like this one. I don't disagree with those who said Horton should have his head up (except maxipadpower, he's a douche), but the puck was gone for long enough that Rome should have let up.

 

It was late , I already said that three times .

But he did not target the head .

Sure looks like he came from the blind side and made initial contact with the head.

 

Not quite a body bag but still needed help off the ice.

Yes he did- He was stood all the way up and that's what he hit.
Was it intentional/malicious-I don't believe so and I doubt he'll get a suspension- but that hit is the EXACT hit that rule 48.1 addresses...Malicious is above and beyond and gets evaluated at the office.

 

So which is it?? Was his head down or was he not looking at the player lining up to hit him late??
Either way- It's hard to blame an offensive player for looking down the ice in the direction of the puck for getting hit form the off side, late, and high.

Give it up guys- It was clearly a bad hit.

 

No chance he will be suspended

 

I say it was late, but not a rule#48 hit like Savard or Booth hit to the head, I still say had ne not been hurt, there would have been no penalty.

 

I'm not willing to admit that yet...I doubt it- but anything can happen.
