UI is typical Garmin. Seems the same as our old Garmin unit from years ago. Fairly intuitive to me. The only problem I've had was figuring out how to change the volume of the turn by turn directions. Finally realized that if I change the volume on the unit when she's talking, it changes her voice. Not sure if there's another way.

Lag might me a second or so. I don't really notice. The screen resolution is so good, I'm usually admiring that...

My parents live in a fairly rural area. It guided me to their house accurately - except took me to the place next door. So there it was off a bit, but not much. I haven't had it miss the mark otherwise.

    nice install!
how about a review on the reverse camera you used.
I like how thin and stealthy it is but a little pricey

I need to post a pic of the camera itself.

    Brief review:
It isn't obvious that I have a camera back there, which I like. If you look at the license plate holder you can tell, but I'll bet most people don't notice if they aren't looking for it.

Install was easy enough, and it works fine with the HU. I didn't use the mounting bolts it came with. They fit into the frame and you thread nuts on from the back side. This is to make theft more difficult. I may be sorry, but I got some black hex head screws and used them because it was easier.

I got this cam because it uses a CCD sensor, which is supposed to be better than the others. I'm not sure it matters. The image on the HU is fine, but not spectacular. I'm more impressed with the HU when I play a DVD or something. I think the camera is still the weak link, so I'll bet I'd have been just as happy with something cheaper image wise.

I'll put some pics in the write up this weekend.

Can't find the dash kit, or the steering wheel kit for this unit for installation in a 2012 Taco.

Nice. I have installed my double din dash in n now I'm working on installing the rear view camera. I am having trouble of finding the drain plug to put the wire through to hook up to the gate handle.
I have a 2005 tacoma access cab 6 spd manual. Any ideas of how I can wire it to the reverse wire with model? Or is it easier by doing a switch so I can look at it anytime?

I wired it so it came on in Reverse and switched for anytime on.

You should get a TRD boot screen on it.

For the guy asking about the GPS. I have used the predecessor the 9960 for over a year traveling on multiple 1500+ mile trips. I can answer anything you might want to know about the GPS part.

If you add a new destination she will ask if you want to "add it as a VIA point". You just say "yes" and it adds it. You cant rearrange them though.

Dont do a destination seach by voice unless its "Mcdonalds" or "Walmart" or something common. Otherwise it will search every buisness in the state and you wont be able to do anything for like 2 minutes... perhaps this is fixed in the current version. However there is so much capability it boggles the mind. It never lags unless you are between 2 buildings downtown in a major city... but all GPS do that.
