Dangling Harness question

While installing a new radio this weekend, i found a dangling harness when i removed the cover under right-center air vent (this is the left cover opposite to where the 4wd switch). See photos below.

Does anyone what this harness is for? I was planning to put LED lights under the dash. Is this something that can give me a 12V supply?

 

yellow usually means airbag system, its prob a shut off wire that they may use for some trucks?

 

Don't know. I have a trd with all the options and I don't think I have any switches there. As for power, go to walmart and buy a five dollar light bulb power tester and check it out. If it lights up all the time you've got a hot line. If it lights up with ignition on but not off it's a ACC line. If nothing, it's nothing. I'd guess it has power though one way or another.

 

Don't some models have a switch in that area to turn off the passenger air bag?

I am guessing air bag shut off for access cabs.. Since you have a DC, it is not needed.

and im almost certain that yellow wire wrap is airbag code

 

Makes sense. I have a DC.

 

As stated above it's for the airbag switch if you have an access cab. Any mass produced vehicle or equipment with different configurations will share the same wiring harnesses but all connections may not be used.
