Alright guys, give me your ear for a second.

Took the 22RE back out of my 4Runner project this weekend because I had a small oil drip coming from the rear of the engine. I was afraid it was my rear main seal because of where the drip appeared to be coming from.

Pulled the engine, the rear main is 100% intact. The oil is coming from higher up on the engine. I had a chunk bit out of my valve cover gasket as well as a decent leak from a plate up by the timing sprocket/distributor gear.

I THINK what caused my drip is the combination of these two leaks. Then the oil seeped along the head gasket and down the back of the engine - leading to the tranny/motor connection point and causing my drip.

    Three questions:

    1. It seems logical that oil would seep like that, right?
    2. If my head gasket was leaking oil, I would have excessive oil consumption and possible coolant mixing right? (Neither of which are occurring. This is a brand new engine)
    3. Would this oil contact on the outside of the engine hurt my head gasket?

I did a dirty deed today. I drove over to the east side and bought from 4wheelparts.
However, I wasn't going to pay Amazon $30 in ground shipping for a pulley and a deflator

Seriously, why does it cost $30 to ship a deflator? The pulley was going to ship for less than $10!

Do you guys just build the same vehicle over and over? What's different between all of them?

You have to change the design each year. Just how the rules are. Kind of a pain because its a pretty dialed in design. That chassis is very similar to last year's except for some extra width and length though. The pedal assembly is tits compared to last year's. Mostly end up changing little stuff to keep dialing it in. This year's focus was on carbon fiber.

Pics from some testing a month or two ago. Took some of the older cars out with us.

It's the one by Currie Enterprises. Same exact one that's sold by ARB, without paying extra for the name

Yeah I love my ARB one. You can buy it for 35 from Trdpart4u and I can pick it up at the ARB warehouse and bring it to the meet. That is if you haven't actually picked it up yet.

Ah, wish I had known. I picked it up for $30, and it's a crappy drive. $5 difference would have been worth it.

Maybe! One of my old friend will be in town that weekend also and she wants to hang out during the evening time..she wants to go to Rose Festival so if my mom agrees to watch my daughter for the whole day and I am able to cut at maybe around 4ish from Browns then I will be in for sure. It looks like a nice turnout.
