    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Scratch-X works great for scratches that are as deep as your clearcoat. Anything deeper, and you'll need paintwork to fix...

I park in the middle of the boone docks, but my truck seems to draw "carts". I'm telling ya, the lot can be empty, but when I come out there are carts all around.

Parking spaces around here have to be a certain size, BUT if the plan was approved with X amount of parking space no matter what the size. You can bet they will go in. One place and I kid you not, my ties are on both lines . So I take up two, a guy (owner of the store in the plaza) said I can't do that. I said the spaces are not to code, one mark on my truck and he will pay for it.
Needless to say I don't go their anymore.

I find a spot with two empty spots next to it. I then pull the safety cones out of the bed, and set them out in a wide perimiter around the vehicle. Next, I set out the sawhorses with the yellow flashing lights that say "MEN AT WORK". I begin recording with my side mounted cameras, and set my paging alarm to 'on'. If anyone damages me, I have video, and can charge the culprit higher fees for being in a construction zone.

Actually, I park sideways so I can take up at least 3 spots.

... oh you got me, I'm the guy who idles up near the doors while someone else goes in...

Really though, I just do like the rest of you... park far away and say a prayer, then put another dollar in the piggy bank for sliders.

I guess I do have the paging car alarm, though :p

Man with how stupid and ignorant people are now-a-days, that crap don't surprise me at all. I've seen so many people ding other peoples vehicles and act like nothing happened. They just kind of give it that "oh well, not my car" type of look and just go about their buisness! Same with friggin shopping carts!!! PEOPLE, put that in the shopping cart holders in the parking lot!!!! Walk your lazy ass another 20 feet to put it away instead of leaving it in the middle of the parking lot or in empty spaces so that the wind don't slam them into our vehicles!!! GOSH, those people piss me the f--- off!!!!

    Nonsense.

It is the fault of the meathead without the mudflaps just as it is in the lot when some slob parks too close. There is no excuse for not respecting others property, other than ignorance.

    'Can't be helped'...

My uncle chases those people down in his rascal, it's awesome.

I think what he meant is that even with mudflaps, the rocks can fly up. It's been happening a lot lately with the gravel they sprinkled for snow. Semis are the worst.

so im a meathead because i dont have mudflaps?

not ONCE have i seen debris fly up and hit someones car when they were an appropriate distance behind me...twice ive seen gravel hit the hood of a car but both of those times i could barely even see the cars headlights behind me because they were so close

more often than not...those rocks and crap are hitting my own truck

sort of...if you follow at an appropriate distance...youre probably NOT going to have an issue being hit with flying gravel...

1 car length for every 10mph or so...when on the interstate i try and keep a 3 to 4 second following distance...

I feel the same as you do about these door dings. When I purchased my truck I decided to never park next to anyone unless of course I have to. Funny though there seems to be a lot of truck owners that feel the same way because when I go to the gym all of the trucks are in the back and why not? We pay good money for our trucks just to have Molly Housewife park right next to you and hit your door. It's not worth it, park away from others if you care about your paint.

Going even at 55 you can really fling up a peice of gravel to someone following more than a safe distance - I've had little cars fling a chunk up onto the top of my cab. It's just how it works, gotta get on with life and make sure you keep things waxed, which helps protect to a certain extent.

If you are a big truck, you aren't as worried about your doors as you are worried about your bed. My parent's '99 Dodge Ram 2500 long bed has had one person smush the area right after the rear tire, and another person smush the area right in front of the rear tire because they back up and don't realize the length of the vehicle next to them. I've seen some first time drivers back into a '70s Chevy rear bumper - the Chevy didn't give a damn, but it did one hell of a number to the newbies little car.

Don't get me started on that. I think I've been forbidden from owning a vehicle without a spider-web crack in the windshield. Had my truck for a month and 3 days when I got one. I'll go for years without a chip or crack, but as soon as I get a new vehicle, or replace the windshield, I get another crack within a few weeks. I figure that as long as I don't replace this windshield, It should be years before I get another one.

Not true. This last crack was from a Chevy going in the opposite direction. Right as he was passing me, he decided to drive between lanes where all the gravel builds up, instead of in the middle of his lane where the road is bare.... Actually, almost all the gravel that hit me that trip was from vehicles (especially semi's) going the opposite direction.

The Safeway that I go to has the same thing. A section of parking lot, out of the way, where no one parks except pick-up's. Doesn't even matter if they're old or new. It's awesome.

My Gf bitches at me everytime we park far away and them I showed her my scratches and now she's only slightly more tolerant. I think it's the type of person who drives also. Lot's of people are the point A to B types and could care less what takes them there. Folks like us who take pride in their trucks are the ones who get shafted.
When I got a yellow scratch along the passenger side I fantasized (in a non-sexual truck way) about being there to witness it and then beat the person into submission young or old, male or female for their ignorance. And I'm not a violent person but that would push me to the edge. Whew...I feel better. Is ther a support group for people like us?

Also, you look at alot of people, and you can tell from one look that they simply are not comfortable behind the wheel, no matter how long they've been driving. Others simply aren't aware of their surroundings when they drive.

That sucks, I just hit my door with the snowblower :smack: The cheapest estimate was $360.00 I have hit just about everything with it, maybe I should move where there is no snow
