Nuvi 760

Greetings.

I just upgraded my old Garmin to the Nuvi 760 and was looking for some clever mounting ideas?

Anyone have any pics?

thats the same model i have..haven't really found anything clever yet.

did you know that you can use topo maps with the 760? Garmin has not updated their website yet but they do work.

 

There is a guy here who has a mount that looks like a semi inserted CD. Don't ask I can't find it myself

i allways want to take the dash and cut it. make it super sleak like in the dash above the radio and conect it to a motor for a light for a car with flip up lights. know what i mean? so make it look stealth but then you can take and make it full function at the flick of a switch. personaly i think that would BA!

I have the Nuvi 750 and after trying a dozen mounting ideas, I found the perfect one. I'll take pics tonight and post. I installed the mounting arm/plate that attaches to the lower dash panel next to the HVAC knobs andI then used an offset mounting post and an attachment frame made specifically for the Nuvi. I'll try to name mfg's with the pics. It is positioned perfectly and does not vibrate at all. The perfect setup.

Here is the RAM holder for the NuVi itself you will need. You use the same attachment for the back of the NuVi that the window mount ball inserts into....this is the piece that the power plug goes into, it fits into this unit as well as the NuVi itself. $10 bucks. I'll post the other two components needed tonight.

I remember looking around for this same one before but couldn't find it. Maybe you'll have better luck if you're interested.

 

The Panavise is a snap to install and provides a very stable platform. Still trying to find the piece I used that goes between the Panavise bracket and the RAM holder......

 

I'd go with the Panavise: excellent quality and perfect fit.

 

Oh, I see now how the ProClip attaches. I would personally go with the Panavise as I am betting it is a much more solid and stable bracket - 3 screws used to attach it (you don't see them).

 

ProClip, Bracketron, Panavise. Take a look at them all, as I did, and I'll bet you go with the Panavise. I think I found mine for $14.00? Maybe $20.

 

In fact, I think Panavise makes the bracket that Bracketron sells.

Ok, here is the last part...it is a Swivel Adapter, also by Panavise, which can be seen on the same page as the dash bracket I referred to earlier (it is $16.99 on this site, not bad, I think this is where I bought mine.) The Swivelo adapter attachs to the dash mounting plate at an angle....I'll try to explain via a pic.
