Is it safe to put Trd supercharger kit on with 94k on engine?

I have a 05 Trd sport and 94k miles the engine is still strong to the bone and with the mods I have already I am faster than hemi rams and v8 silverados but I'm wondering if it is safe to put the supercharger kit on my truck without damaging it

 

Yes, I don't understand how it would damage it? What are you worried about breaking? I'd be more worried about running the SC on the auto tranny then anythign.

 

You're boosting a truck that never had it before, putting more power through a worn in transmission and driveline. I'd be ready for some things to start giving way modifying an older truck but nothing overly drastic (hopefully).

 

Yeah exactly. Other then the transmission I don't think your going to damage anything. I'd say go for it!

I also say if you have the means to do it, go for it! But the downside is you're pressurizing the intake so if the engine is already beginning to fail, you could speed up the process. If the engine is sound and everything is still within tolerances, rings are good, you should be fine.

 

Think of it this way. If you had put the supercharger on it when it had 10 miles on it, would you be posting to ask if we thought you should remove the supercharger now that it has almost 100,000 miles on it?

The only negative I see, unless you have problems you already know about with your drivetrain, is that there is a diminishing return on the supercharger. If you had put it on at 10 miles, you'd have already had almost 100,000 miles of use from the supercharger. If it lasts another 100,000 miles, that's 200,000 total miles of use. But now, if it lasts another 100,000 miles, you only get 100,000 miles of use from the supercharger. But there's nothing you can do about that now...

 

Not true at all...the engine is more efficient and takes less to make the same power...now if your pedal is always to the floor maybe something will change but that goes for stock too...I put a supercharger on my 05 which had 140,000+ mi on it...I totaled it and now its going on my 2011. You"ll be fine no worries at all...like i say take care of the truck and the truck will take care of you
