I am starting this to tell YOU about something awesome that some friends of mine in Huntsville, Tx are doing.

They started a facebook group to raise money and awareness for the 28 million cancer survivors in the world.

The idea is that ONE person can only do a little, but that together, something great can be done.

As a whole they are trying to ride/run/bike 280,000 miles. Individually, they are trying to raise at least $28 by October 2nd.

If you love to train and compete, I figure you may want to put all those miles towards a great cause.

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE LIVESTRONG FOUNDATION

    3. Raise a minimum of $28 (US) or anything from $1-10 (US) per mile for LIVESTRONG.
    4. Spread the word!!! We'll need a large team to cover 280,000 miles.
    5. Have fun and LIVESTRONG

cool, thanks! i'm going to check this out.

I already did an MS charity ride and doing the ADA ride this weekend. Been debating on a cancer fundraiser for the end of the year, and this may be a good one since it has a super low minimum (I'm starting to feel bad about constantly asking for donations from friends/family).

Sounds like a good excuse to finally get my cadence sensor fixed on my road bike!! Besides need more event shirts! Gotta ask the wife but a few Q’s the links didn’t answer.

(If you are only sharing info please let me know and I will contact the poster on FB.)

1- Does all walking, running, and biking miles count?
2- Would it be 28.00 each for me and my wife? Would probably donate more but just curious for minimum entry. (seen the seperate reg fee’s).
3- Do we just update the host of FB or do a log?!

:smack:<-- Floyd Landis, Tyler Hamilton, Jan Ullrich, etc, etc, etc...- you all broke my heart and I can no longer enjoy the tour

I'm just sharing but I think I can answer. Sorry for the delay, I've been ill and just now getting the energy to get on the computer.

    1- Yes, they all count.
    2- It's $28 each person minimum
3 - If you join the facebook group, you can just log your miles there and the hosts (Jenn or Brad) will update the group total.

I agree with you about the tour. Just isn't the same now.

Your welcome. Hope you are able to participate. :)

And thank you! I'm just hoping to fall asleep being I'm wide awake now. Steroid shot at 9 pm not a good idea. Plus meds for my severe headache are 1/3 caffeine.
