Ya Tampa lost over 30 million this year too alone. I dont know how they will resign Stamkos

 

thats pretty weird. i understand why people down there dont go to games though. its not like up here where everyone plays or has played and hockey is everywhere.

 

unless their owner likes losing more money he won't.

 

Personally I think going to a hockey game is awesome. I think it is the best sport out there to be a fan of. I really don't understand why people do not support their local teams

 

i think it has a lot to do with tradition and what your surroundings are.

 

I think a lot of the rationale behind expanding two teams into Florida was to lure the Canadian snowbird retiree's that winter down there , but that doesn't seem to have panned out

I actually grew up in Portland, Maine. I was spoon fed any and all new england sports teams.

 

we get alot of people from Quebec down here

 

I found it facinating to hear all the reports about the unbeleivable travel the Bruins would have to make to play the Canucks in the final.

The Bruins hadn't been out of their timezone since the playoffs began , fucking east coast teams .

 

see thats probably why you like hockey its more popular there.

 

really thats how close they are? the closest nhl city from me is about 5.5 hours away.

 

I thought that was pretty funny when i found that out, i never realized that.

 

ya its a huge pain in the ass when you travel to play sport you love for millions of dollars.

The " biting " thing is over blown , and played well in the states where hockey is marketed as a spectacle rather than a sport .
