If you're a mechanic shouldn't you be telling us...? Lol. But your cheapest options for real power would be like a set of DTLT headers and a URD MAF calibrator

Not a lot of options. The usual bolts ons help from what I hear but to get the most out of them a URD MAF calibrator will be needed. None of that snake oil crap such as higher octane gas, "ebay chip", TB spacer, or magnets are worth your time or money.

    ^Dammit, you're right. Adding a TRD sticker to a non TRD Tacoma adds 37.5hp. That's a FACT.

    ...too much shit to list.
Losing weight is the only real "cheap" mod that makes a noticeable difference. Put your truck on a diet...while you save up for a supercharger.:D

    TRD skid painted black,

    This is the correct answer.
Many years ago a set of headers, loud muffs, intake, carb, and some timming changes would add a ton of power.
Not anymore the factorys are building as much power in as they can to make the engine more efficent to add MPG.
You can add 20 HP but it will cost you 1-2 grand.
    Is it worth it?
    That is up to you.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
You can free up some horses by taking your crank powered radiator fan off and putting on an electric fan. Thats anywhere btwn $250 and $500 for about 10-20 hp. Another way is to figur out how to remove your A/C from your belt system with out removing the A/C itself. It can be done, ya just gotta be creative. Thats anywhaere between $20 and $50 for about 5 hp.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
    TRD Supercharger w/o fit kit = $3,800.00
    DTLT = $540.00
    aFe Exhaust = $422.00
    URD CAI = $289.00
    URD MAF = $199.00
Drilling holes in your exhaust so it sounds like you have some extra HP = ...well that depends on your brand of drill

Seriously though, you gotta pay to play. In the end the little gains you get may not even be worth the amount you spend. IMHO I don't feel as though our trucks are underpowered. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I won't do performance mods, but for me the juice is worth the squeeze

 I guess I'll see how my truck is after the lift and tires. As of now its fast enough. I like to cruise anyway.

The best way to make cheap power is to swap in a VTECCCCC motor from a Honda. Then you are shifting!!

x2- The days of taking an old Chevy/Mopar/Ford short block and adding a new manifold and carb for a hundred bucks are over!

Unless you care to retro fit your truck with a old school big block and take pix for everyone?!!
