We call for a second one to come transport the pt, and either get towed or limp to the service shop. Been there a few times....

 

My uncles a retired ambulance emt driver, he once told me about a country emerg run. They hit a moose on the way back to the hopsical and wrote off the first ambulance. Two more had to come to pick up the patient and the other emt. Everyone lived though thank god

 

Haha Actually...... Apparently over time, had stretcher hanging off the back when the truck is "up" and would engage the air dump to lower the truck which crushes the stretcher. Sooooooo the cot had a stress fracture in the bottom and went to lift the bottom carriage up, hit the tailgate and BAM broke. Good thing I was loading the patient, so when we got to the ER we got a bed from inside and got him on there.

Yowza!! I would NOT like to hit a moose..... We are in the country, and we have ALOT of deer. I'm surprised we don't hit them all the time. Crap. Hope I didn't jinx myself......

 

The wildfire hazard remains EXTREME. There are currently seven active wildfires in the Waterways Area.

MWF 030 located approximately 38 kilometres southeast of Kearl Lake is classified as out of control at 1,200 hectares. On this fire we have six fire crews, six helicopters and air tankers.

MWF 032 located approximately 12 kilometres west of Gordon Lake is being held at 35 hectares. On this fire we have two fire crews and a helicopter.

Bitumont Complex

MacKay Fire located north of Fort MacKay is being held at approximately 9,925 hectares. Crews are performing mop-up on the south end.

Richardson Fire, approximately 60 km north of Fort McMurray, stretching from McClelland Lake to Richardson Lake is classified at out of control at approximately 388,000 hectares.


Bitumont Complex resources include:

447 firefighters from Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and local industry
40 helicopters
64 pieces of heavy equipment including water trucks, nodwells and bulldozers
47 command and support staff.

 

Oh wow. That sucks. I've never trained for Wildland FF. It's totally different than what I do and different gear too.
