So you got a stick with remote start. How does that work safety wise ? Thanks.

Standard/Manual remote starters connect to the clutch sensor and the gear sensor - the same one that doesn't let your engine turn over without depressing the clutch petal (unless you push that button on the left of the steering wheel). So to use the remote you have to leave your standard in neutral and trust the parking brake. Maybe turn your wheels for extra protection (toward/away from the curb).

Personally I would still leave the truck in gear on hills. But it seems like a great idea for low-grade parking lots / etc.

Hope you have power locks :p I don't XD. Probably an easy fix though.

Not saying this is a great idea.... but I've "heard" of people dropping $50 at more local shops to pass inspection. I might be worth it to avoid uninstall/re-install unless it's a simple clamp. I've read about people doing this for older carb'd corrvetts that for some reason do not get grandfathered into the system. Usually this is more of a problem when you remove several cats from the system. idk why an intake would cause this. The fuel-injection map on my motorcycle sets it off though. The stock setting cuts fuel at 5k rpms. Could be an increased air supply cause more fuel to be injected than the cats are spec'd for.

yah it's awesome. I've wanted to get one for the NY winters. But money followed other things first. Just make sure you get the "manual/standard" version. Most models/manufacturers have different kinds. The automatic ones can be dangerous cause they will crank your engine even in gear. From my experience the "manual" versions are surprisingly just as common (easy to find) as the automatic versions - seems more "manual" car owners add after market equipment like remote starters. It helps level the playing field considering only 10-15% of cars in America are manual.
