Rear Seat Backs (DC)- Non Slip Coating?

Hey guys,

When I got the rear seats folded for cargo in my double cab its anoying having things sliding around. I did a search but didn't find anything.

I like the function of the bed mat to keep things from moving around, or carpet back seats when I had a Scion to keep things somewhat put.

Anyone coated them with some grip coating? (Plastidip? BedLiner?) I think a rubber coating would be nice.

Ideas?

 

Why not a glue down indoor/outdoor carpet or thin rolled rubber? Spray on seems like a lot of work around upholstery. If you got the backs away from the seat I'm sure you could line-X them for sure though.

 

Yeah definitely planning on removing the plastic if I do anything.

They come of fairly easy from what I've seen. This is why the coating option seems better cause the carpet/rubber sheet idea might not apply or last as well...

 

Gotcha, I didn't know they came off easily. Take pictures of the final product, I'm interested in doing this someday as well and you may have just changed my approach!

 

My wife had an old rubber yoga mat that was about 1/4" thick tacky rubber. I use that when the seats are folded down and it rolls up and fits behind the seat. I think the mat was like $10 or $15. It might be a simple option.

 

I think I might just try Plasti-Dip...i mean it is a rubber spray on coating.

I guess now the debate is if I should try Clear or Black.
Something tells me clear rubber on the gray might not work out nice? Hm....

 

The seat backs are easy to take apart. Just look up the leather install threads, and it'll tell you in detail.
