    Depends on if they have the pursuit package or not. A lot of them have V6 engines. Every charger in my city has a V6 because we are not near a freeway so they didn't approve the pursuit package with the V8

    Actually they do have v6 Police Package Chargers. My Agency does not field them, however Chandler Police has a few. Yes, they are fairly gutless when it comes to accelleration. In a heavy populated Urban Environment, the v8 Hemi can be overkill at times. I work in an area that is more like a city and not rural. Often times that I have hot calls that require Code3 response, I don't see over 80 mph. It's too congested with other motorists and woud be too dangerous for the public with me driving any faster.

    I have been up to 151 mph on the open freeway, around 3 am, attempting to intercept a pursuit of a stolen Tacoma.

    I love my Charger and the sound of that Hemi when I need to get on it.

    my dept has both v6 and v8 chargers

    both work for the area we cover...traffic units have the v8 whereas investigators etc have v6

    we also have several magnums...and though they are towards the end of their lifespan as patrol cars...i was running about 115 down the interstate responding to burglary suspect pursuit and had a magnum walk me down and pass me like i was standing still
