Awfully quiet on here today. Allow me to post my happiness for today.

So you can see above I purchased a CB, Firestik (Amazon) and an antenna mount (relentless fab) Jazzed that CB and antenna arrived Monday. Antenna mount coming. But dumbass here neglected to order a friggin antenna cable with the antenna. Called all over today to find one. Nada on the west-side. Spent all day going to Coastal farm and supply, Wally world, Fred Meyer, Bi Mart, Dicks, big5 sports. Nobody stocks this stuff anymore.

So I will have to order one from amazon, but it will not be here in time for TSF trip. Fortunately Mike was the man, and the unit I got converts to a portable with a small antenna, so I should be able to hear you guys while on the trial.

If you can get 2 hours in the middle of the day, go here and you will get what you need. We can pretty much install in camp, but won't be able to tune without the SWR... this gives you better signal coming in, but you won't have voice.

Good detective work! That sucks on not being able to get your real set up ready in time though. Glad you'll have SOMETHING though. Made it kinda nuts last time when certain guys couldn't hear what the plan was via CB

so what is on the menu for dinner Friday night? I assume we will have fire pits?

I have a couple of Rib eye's defrosting. I will get some spuds and such Friday. (read beer and ice).

The only camping gear I have is a tent, bag and cooler. I will borrow some stuff from my brother (camp stove and firewood)

digitarius is bringing a meter. I may get one as well, so I can watch how to do it.

I think I got RF's last. Ordered on Friday. He sent it today, si I should have by Friday, not that it matters with no cable.

I may take a jaunt out to the place Mike mentioned....

I think it has improved. I've been seeing partly cloudy with temps in the high 70s or low 80s. Summer may be upon us!

Yep. It's one of those old Coleman units with the two burners. Mine has the nice self-lighting deal so no matches for me :)

I have an old cookie sheet that I threw in with it that can do pancakes or whatever, if we need that.

    Yes there are pits.

I don't have anything really planned. I suck at meal planning, so if you guys have great ideas that I can help with, that is fine by me.

No. We're all going to Brown's camp like you should be. Although I guess we're better off with less duck fans

Double posting this because I want to make sure I get some input:

I might try to meet you guys straight at the staging area rather than McDonalds. I just realized from Corvallis I can come up Highway 99W to McMinnville, then turn onto Hwy 47 into Hwy 8 and finally ending up on Highway 6 that takes you out to the staging area. This saves me about 25 miles versus going all the way up to 217 and out to highway 26.

    Thoughts?

    Here would be my route:

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou...7068&sspn=54.005807,68.994141&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=9

I think I'll end up doing this. Highway is better for me anyway. My rig gets best gas mileage under 60.

Yeah, going through Gales Creek will save you time, and put you out just before the shell station. You could meet up with all there, (have your CB on and have someone call out as they are coming up on this), or just do as you say, and hit up the staging area.

If you wanted to hit the convoy, you could continue up 47, hit 26 @ Banks and backtrack about 5 miles to North Plains, and get yourself some McD's goodness for breakfast!

That's probably the best idea since it doesn't sound like we know what CB channel is going to be best yet. Plus, a guy's gotta have McD's breakfast at least once every 6 months :D

    This route would work best:

219 from Newberg is a good shot too, also a pretty drive. Take you right through Downtown Hillsboro to North Plains.

Then, If I forget something at my house, you could stop and get for me. :D

Okay. I'll definitely be meeting up at McD's now. But good to know about the channel.
