question for you LT guys

i do not have LT and never will. but i am curious what kind of MPG you guys get while ripping through the dessert?

it seems like its an expensive off-road option/hobby

here in new england i ride ATV's in the woods, i can ride for weeks on a few gallons

 

I would imagine it would depend on lots of things...4wd vs. 2wd. speed, how much throttle your using, ect..

 

yeah... really depends on how much skinny pedal you use

when i'm just driving around town and being a good boy i can get about 15-16 MPG... if i'm lucky

i get barely 250 miles per tank...

I'm the same..about 230 per tank and 13mpg pretty much every time. lowest I got while out riding in the desert with my wolf pack was like 11

 

yeah, i really took a hit when i got my grabber tires... they are heavy as crap

if i were to re-gear and get some BFG AT's or something i could get back some power and better MPG

 

14-15 MPG on the pavement; no idea what it is offroad cause it varies so much.

Gas is the least of your worries; things like rolling the truck or destroying a differential worry me much more.

x3 sometimess ill hit 240, usually 220 or 230 and around 200 while out in the desert

 

When driving streets I get around 13mpg. When on the freeways im somewhere around 16-18mpg

My buddies race truck in race conditions was told was around 9mpg. While my other buddy gets around 5mpg is race conditions.

 

Question for you guys. Since your odometer is off from the size of the tires do you re-calculate the extra miles you actually went? If your speedo if off by 5 mph at 50mph then at 250 miles you actually went an extra 25 miles. So instead of 250/16=15.6 you actually got 275/16=17.18

You may get better mileage than you think. If I baby it on the streets I get about 265 miles on the odometer. Add the extra mileage and I get about 291/16=18.18mpg. Its not the LT that loses mpg. Its the tires and extra weight and a bigger motor to push the tires and weight

Regearing will help a little but we really get hammered by our bumpers and fenders.

 

good point JD... i pretty much go off what i used to get MPG wise and what i have now based on miles per tank

i took a big hit when i got my grabber tires because they are so freaking heavy... thats when i noticed the decrease the most

 

im regeared and i only gained 1 or 2 mph, but the increased power is amazing! but im not LT im just posting

 

Yep, 230 is my best so far for a full tank, a re-gear is in my near future though.
