    I got nothing
Looking for a Doublecab, 4x4, V6, 6 spd, TRD Offroad, w/ Tow package
Hey Everyone, I am brand new to this site and I could really use some sound advice. I am looking for a 2011 maybe 2012 (if I must wait) Tacoma. I know exactly what I want but I am having trouble finding it.

I am in the market for a doublecab, 4x4, TRD OR, 6 speed, with tow package. I've been to Toyotas website, built the truck and requested quotes from dealers but never get any responses. Obviously they make this truck so why am I getting nowhere? FYI i am moving to southern VA very soon so that is where i will purchase.

I know that it is very specific but my question to everyone, am i looking for a needle in a hay stack? Can I go down to the dealer and place an order for the exact options I want and have it "built"? If that is the case, how long of a waiting period am I looking at? Or do i just have to wait, hope and pray that they make one that i want and I somehow get it?

Thanks for any insight or personal experience you have with my dilemma
    John

I live in pittsburgh and just got mine a couple of weeks ago. Had to drive down to Laurel, MD. Bought it at a CARMAX brand new...

I suggest using Autotrader, CARMAX search, etc. Expand your search radius to something like 500 miles. You will probably have to drive if you are really picky like I was. ESPECIALLY if you are looking for a black one (see my other thread about the shortage of '11 black tacomas out there).

    Good luck!

    Oh and welcome to TW!

BTW... I don't think Toyota will take new orders for black or red Tacoma's right now. Could be wrong though. That earthquake messed things up...

Hey thanks and I love the truck. Do you have the tow package with it? Do all TRD OffRoad have the tow package?
Yeah I think i'm going to have to try another route with finding my truck. It may be a chore but seeing your truck it is definately worth the hassle!

Yeah it's got the tow package. From what I've seen, the tow package is always listed on the sticker like a separate option, but I've yet to see a TRD OR without it.

The tow package is a dealer installed option. If you find what you want without it then the dealer can add it before you purchase. Welcome to TW and tight lines!

Actually, the tow package is installed at the factory. The dealer doesn't install the tow package.

    haha southern va? wheres that??

just go into a dealership in person and tell them what you want. itll prolly be a wait. i opted to not wait and get the gray access cab tdr 4x4 in auto which im still happy with. it gets better gas mileage and im not going to be doing any crazy wheeling.. just commuting and occasional towing.

Bought my 2010 Pyrite DC 6 spd over a year ago and drove to Boston from NJ for it. Still glad I did. Six speed is awesome.

Southern Virginia. Greensville County. I specified this because the closest dealers are in North Carolina. Yeah I have 2 kids so the access cab isnt an option for me. I def want the 6 speed too. Thanks for the advice tho.

Search using Auto Trader (advance search) Go out 500 mi or more like someone said. At least you'll find what your looking for. Then drive to get it if you can. If you contact the dealer who has it on his lot you'll get a much better deal. You dont want them to know you're looking high and low for it. All TRD's will have the tow pkg. Good Luck
