First off, this is not my truck, its my older brothers. Hes at work & im on summer break trying to find out the part in question, I dont know how he broke so I cant say. to clear up the air im no mechanic.The trucks a 98 single cab 2.4 5 speed 2wd on 31's. If someone could tell me what he broke i would really appreciate it.

It happens often with truckes being jumped, or aftermarket ball joints. Someone else had a failed balljoint when he was just going over a bump not sure on the name but he has plenty pics of the incident.

I wanna say nelsonm?? something like that...

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels

i dont think his "lower ball joint" is actually broken, but the piece that connects it to the LCA, not sure if that piece comes with a new ball joint or not when you purchase at your local autoparts store

i could be mistaken though........im sure someone will chime in

IIRC the mounting studs sheared on Matt's truck. It was not a BJ failure.

Yeah it's all one piece I just had mine replaced and that whole assembly is replaced. just get new ball joints if nothing got broken when this broke.

There is a recall on lower ball joints maybe the dealer will fix it for free.

The OP is a 5-lug. Think the recall is only for some 6-lugs.
