I am looking for a good interface kit. I have looked pretty hard at the PA15-TOY by USSPEC but I was wondering how that compares to the PT545-00082 that Toyota is now selling. I am also not looking to spend a whole bunch which is why I was looking at the PA15-TOY in the first place.

Any opinions about other products on the market?

Sorry if this information is somewhere else on the forum. I am new and still learning to navigate.

    Thanks.

Both of the ones you noted are much fancier than the one I use, but mine works great for me. It's called the Metra iPod Adapter at Circuit City and is just $50. It plugs directly into the back of your factory stereo and can drop either into the glove box or into that little cubby between the steering wheel and the center column.

(You can't control the iPod from the radio. You have to change songs, etc. on the iPod itself.)

It should. The radio didn't change b/w the 2005 and 2008. It won't work if you have the JBL radio, though.

This is the thread where I read about it first.

I just read a little about that one. It's basically like mine, but has some nice additional features that allow you to control a little more from the console. (All I can control is volume... all else must be done w/ the iPod.)

The problem for the OP, though, is that the iPod2Car connects to the factory HU the same way mine does, so it won't work for the JBL system.

Do a search...there's tons of posts about this already.

I have the ipod2car PXDP in my truck. I also have 6 disc changer and steering wheel controls (all functional).

I stand (really, I sit with my coffee) corrected. I thought the JBL head unit either didn't have, or already used the port on the back of the HU to which the Metra and iPod2Car devices connect.

Nothing like being proven wrong first thing in the morning!

I wonder where I got the idea that the port for the JBL was already used?!?

Thanks for your suggestions. I found a place that has the PA15-TOY for $115 and after reading many other threads on here I have decided to go with that. Hopefully it will be worth it. Besides, CircuitCity closed all of their stores in Phoenix.

www.pacificstereo.com has the PA15-TOY for $115.95 with free shipping. A guy locally is going to match that price.

They're probably going to be closing their stores everywhere soon. I hear that the bankrupcy re-org failed.

    Enjoy your iPod hookup!

What about some thing like the Ipod adapter but with a universal hook up? All my music is on my psp and would like to hook that up. Ya, Ya, psp, haha. I use that cause all my other music is on my ps3 and can swap it out easy.
