yes my question is that is the spline type of nut really provide any other benefit than a theft deterant? Or are they actually skinnier? Cuz i'm looking into the pro comp 7089's and i don't have to worry about them being stolen around here haha i just need an ET nut so would the regulat gorilla et's be fine? or would i need the et spline drives??

I am running that exact setup - ProComp 7089's and Gorilla E/T Spline Drive lugs (chrome) and they blend into the wheel pretty well, you don't notice them at all.

To answer your question, I think you need the spline drive lugs so you can get the socket in to tighten the lugs without scratching your new wheels. I haven't had any problems with them.

I think as long as you have the thin walled socket, the lugs can be tightened fine.

Or BUY a name brand thin-wall socket for your current lug nuts ;).....I did this the minute my '02 with aluminum wheels hit my driveway......that socket and 1/2" drive breaker bar are for one purpose...

Good luck on whatever you do.....and pictures when done.....
