there aren't any regular cabs in canada either. and everyone knows regular cabs are the best model of tacoma, ever.

i know my dad was looking for a manual dclb, but they didnt have one. hell he even wanted one that didn't have power windows or locks. but instead, he walked out with a pretty loaded SR5 cuz he wanted alloy wheels and red. and paid like 5K more then he wanted to. my mom was pretty pissed lmao.

The letters DC in the title of these threads about no manual trans in LBs would be far less confusing to those reading it when they have an access cab manual trans LB and for those that have reg cab manual trans with LB, where LB = 6ft. Like when someone says SB you automatically know that that truck is DC because no AC or RCs come with an SB, where SB = 5ft. Thank you, carry on............

There is no LB or SB in the Access Cab or Regular Cab. There is just "bed" .. one size for them. The designations SB and LB apply only to double cabs .. the only configuration with a choice.

So you're telling me the 6 ft bed in a DC is not the same as the only bed that comes in AC & RC? which = 6 ft. Every Tacoma has the same length bed except a DC SB. which = 5 ft.

I would be one of the few that would love to have a DCLB 6MT. Toyota could at least made it available through special order at the dealership if they think its not that popular, they got all the parts already.

Make me feel a bit better that at least this time we Canadians are not the only ones left out just like it is the case with RC and Off Road packages in DC etc....:canada:

I don't think that's true. I thought both had the same payload & towing capacity if similarly equipped (like with the tow package).

Sigh. I get your point. I probably should have titled it DCLB. I see where you were confused. I apologize. But my point still stands. Doesn't matter if they are the same length bed. In Toyota's sales materials there are...

    Regular Cab
    Access Cab
    Double Cab Short Bed
    Double Cab Long Bed

Eventhough the Access Cab bed is the same length as the bed on the DCLB, once again it is never referred as an Access Cab Long Bed. Long Bed is a descriptor that officially only applies to the DC series. But again I apologize for the confusion on my part.

Answer: Because a DC LB manual would result in a drop of 1 MPG on the window sticker MPG range beyond what is currently the worst gas mileage of any new Tacoma (DC SB manual) due to the slight weight increase. This would in-turn cause someone somewhere to ask why a "compact" truck made by Toyota in 2011 gets the same gas mileage as a Hummer.

Which might make them move towards a RCSB or ACSB......better gas mileage & tighter turning radius like a Samarai, lol.

My long bed reg cab manual turns so tight it'll throw the dog out faster than the barf its launching. Sometimes I swear I see the rear bumper, AND hauls MORE THAN ALL OTHER 4X4 Tacomas.......in the cargo bed, even if it is 40-80 lb .:D

The only reason the bench seat hurts is the damn 7 hours between fill-ups. And to that access cab TRD that passed me 4x going into memorial day weekend, w.t.h. you do ,drink piss drink piss drink piss drink piss drink?

Too bad the REAL long bed wasnt 7' or 8', maybe they didnt want to do a 3 pc. driveshaft.
