Well my Taco just turned 100,000 today! And (knock on wood) without any major problems just routine maint. The few things i've had to do other than oil were new starter contacts $20 (beats a refurbished one for $200) new front struts $180 Rancho and Timing and all other belts replaced $500. I did all of the work except the belts with advice and tips from this site. Thank you one and all. $700 in almost 6 yrs on repairs AWSOME!!!! THATS WHAT MAKES IT A TOYOTA!!!!!!!!! :D

Has anyone else here (with previous Toyota experience) ever noticed that sometimes Toyota's fix themselves.

I had a Tercel that never had any major problems. A few times I would get a check engine light and within a couple days max it would go out and be running good as new again. My Tacoma just recently fixed a leak in it's front drive axle. It had been leaking minimal amounts of gear oil from between the inner CV joint and the front differential. I was going to get the seal replaced, but it stopped leaking.

I sold my 1991 in 2002 with over 387,000 miles on it. It ran and looked Great. Best truck I ever owned.

It's funny you really don't hear any stories about domestics with high miles. I think your lucky to get 200k on them!

That is a ton of miles but it is very possible, my buddy at work who took over my route averages 40-42,000 miles a year, the most I did was 44 and change, and we are driving tired old f-150's. :puke:

yes, that would be very interesting to see how the other compact trucks of old are faring out there nowadays for the mileage and maintenance repair costs
