I have an '06 Tacoma 4x2 Access Cab that is still financed and it has 215/R15's on it and I want BIGGER tires and they won't do it until my 100K warranty is up.I'm currently at 74K. What size can I take my tires up too on this thing - they will not giv me a straight answer. Thanks

Ya, I guess - who the hell are 'they' is right. They are the people at Toyota in Ottawa that service my truck where I bought it. Basically I'm tied in to them for servicing until my 100k comes up, and they won't THINK about allowing me to change tire size until 'they' are not liable, I guess. Thanks for the welcome!

Don't know what to tell you about the dealership man, that sucks. I'm running 30x9.5 Bridgestone Destination AT's on 15x8 wheels. There's a pic of my truck in my profile. I had to remove the metal blocks in the front wheel wells to get them to not rub. I don't know what the max tire size is you can go. I bought mine with these on it. I'm also guessing that you have a 5 lugger and not a Pre Runner.

BTW, welcome to TW. There's lots of good info and advice on here.

    Welcome to TW..

And they are full of SH!T. They just don't want to do the work. You can put any size of tires you want on your truck. It WILL NOT void your warranty regardless of what they say. They will have to prove that larger tires broke the item you are trying to have covered under warranty. You are protected by the Magnuson & Moss warranty act.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act

As far as tire size.. put on whatever size you want. :D

I am going to say NO, but how would bigger tires void any warranty? Do they put any undo stress on any other suspension/steering parts?

Ah.. touche.. Canada. That law is US specific. Didn't notice that.. hmmm... I would hope they had something similar to protect the owners.

there is a similar law in canada that the failure has to be proven to be the cause of a modification for them not to void.
