those things are nuts. just about bulletproof

camburg took a huge blow to the front end when they were running them, and the lights are so strong that they actually bend the light tabs (these are beefy light tabs). it's crazy to think that they have over 10 grand in lights on their truck when the roof bar is on.

sure, i can make you a bracket :)

some guy on here did it on his, but i didn't like his location. i'm sure you could make it look good though with some experimentation. you'd have to try it out, but maybe a rectangular light would look better? best option would be a 4 diode light from rigid industries. small, easy to fit wherever you want, and bright as hell.

Have you looked at the kragen hids? They are suppose to be really bright and reliable for the price. The main problem I hear about them is the mounting brackets crack but I'm sure they could easily be beefed up.

    i hear ya man.

yeah, in all reality, i'll probably go with those. i've heard the same thing though. aparantly it's the plastic part though, so beefing up may be difficult. i'm sure something could be worked out though.

what kind of kayaking are you looking to do? distance, camping, surfing, fishing, motorized vs not?

I have a surf kayak, and it's great for that, but i go kayak fishing every tuesday and it absolutely blows for that, so i'm looking into fishing kayaks right now.

i would get something that is at least 13 feet long. any shorter and it won't track well and paddeling any kind of distance will suck. 15 feet would be nice. sit on tops are a little cheaper, but the ones you sit inside usually have more storage and handle better if you load them down. the ones you sit in are also usually easier to fit with accessories.

If your going to do river, I vote sit in and agree with Colin about the length. Next time I go into work, ill get some good names of ones for ya. We just had 'The Big Boat Sale' where all of them were at least $100 off but I think there's going to be another big sale on them. I'll look into it for ya.

i've been checking out bass pro for new stuff. craigslist obviously for used, but everything on CL up here is whitewater.
    http://www.basspro.com/Boating-Cano...ype-Sit-In-Kayaks/_/N-1z11d3bZ1z0x8m6Z1z0wok6

i'm probably going to be going with something a little shorter, in the 10 to 12 foot range (current surf kayak is only 8'). so you really have to judge how far and easy you want it to paddle. a 10-12' will be harder to maintain speed with and won't track quite as well as a 13-15', but is easier to manuver the smaller ones into position if you're fishing. you jsut have to weight the options.

here's the one i'm looking at right now

andif i go with a sit on top, it'll be something like this

yeah, kayaks aren't too bad. whn you pay more, you're really paying for the bells ans whistles. most of the time, the hull design is essentially the same. so i'd rather buy a cheaper one and add the accessories i need instead of the more expensive one that may have accessories i will never use.
