Hey all, would any of you guys be interested in a center console cover from Redline Goods that is a match for Katzkin dark graphite? Only drawback is that it would be made of vinyl (same material as the door armrests) rather than nice leather.

I have a yard of dark graphite vinyl that I am sending to Redline for them to make me a console cover, and I have enough material for them to make two. They will probably be around $50 shipped each. Drop me a PM if interested!

I just got the big box in the mail. Says Katzkin all over it. Anyone know what it is?

Anyways, BIG thank you to John for putting up with my fussiness. Kudos to you buddy.

Also a big thank you to Andrew for setting this up.

I'll get them installed in the coming weekends, then it'll be PICTURE TIME!

Ok, so I've reached a couple of dead ends on installing my front seat leather.

The first, is the front "active" headrests. I absolutely can't figure out how to remove the plastic holder for the headrests. When I try to wiggle my in there to press down on the plastic tabs (just like the rear seats), there is a white plastic sleeve (part of the "active" system) preventing this.

The second, is thaqt the cloth for the front headrests is glued together, instead of just clipped together. I'd rather not rip apart half of the foam just to get the cloth off.

    Suggestions?

For the headrest holder, try to ge at them from the bottom & squeeze the clips to release them... pic's in the DIY thread:

For the headrests... Instal the leather over the cloth for the ones that are glued on...;)

I've tried to get at the holder from the bottom. It's all sleeved in with metal and plastic.

Can the cloth be cut off carefully with sharp scissors? Otherwise, like Homer said you might be able to get the leather over the cloth. I'd use a thin plastic vegetable bag from the grocery store over each headrest, spray the bags with silicone spray, and use a steamer (you can get a steamer at Target for $24) to heat up the leather headrest covers. Just like in this video:

Ok, so I FINALLY got it figured out.

After 3 hours of fighting with trying to fit my fingers/tools in between all of the metal and plastic crap involved with the "active" system, I eventually just unscrewed the 4 bolts holding it all together, and pulling the entire upper assembly out, pulling out the plastic headrest tubes, then reinstalling the headrest assembly, covering with leather, and putting back the plastic tubes properly.

More of a PITA than any part of this install so far. And I still have the driver's seat to do next.

As for the headrest covers themselves, I just covered over the stock cloth. To tired and pissed off to care at this point.

WHEW! Finally got the leather installed on the seats. Just need to work up the courage and time to do the door panels.

It was a long struggle, and I can guarantee that I will NEVER be installing leather myself again! I even spilled blood over this damn thing!

    Anyways, on to the pics.
