Building the "BEAST"

There is a cheaper way to do it. But I didn't want cheap. I wanted something that was not going to break and something that I could take my family in. I spent $30,000 on a brand new truck. I wasn't going to put junk yard parts in it.

Here is one we did for alot less than mine. Granted, this guy did alot of the work himself and it took a long time to complete, but he's got one of the best SASED trucks out there and can drive it daily if he wants.

I don't know. We never build these to see how much lift we get. We build them to tackle trails or with very specific goals in mind. I can tell you that it has 26 1/2" of clearence from the ground to the frame section at the drivers door, and has 14" travel shocks with 39.50 tires, but I was never interested in how much lift that provided. I leave that up to the F-250 guys

How big are the meats on that 1st gen? Looks like a Dana 60 in the front? Awesome builds!

 

Damn it all, I am now current on this (the most amazing thread ever) and I am still wanting to see so, so much more. I even tried to read slowly and stare extra long at all the pics! I want, scratch that I NEED more!!

hey Wyatt, if you didnt have a family would you have built an access cab?

or are the Dbl cabs better for weight distribution?

I have been wondering this because a lot of guys build dbl cabs and I would think the smaller cab would be a better platform..

 

We don't have anything even close to those two sweet looking rides you guys built up here in Washington.

I pretty positive you need to park one of those in my driveway for PR sake

 

well im just tryin to figure out if the axles or lift allow for bigger tires ? or both or what? how did u get the back even with the front height wise or do both axles make the truck same height then depending on where u set the coilovers?

 

ok so how much lift do u need to fit 33x12.5x16r tires without havin to cut frame and fender?

 

dude, all they did was install a 10" body lift, its not rocket science
