Hello all I am getting ready to go and purchase my new Pioneer head unit. I have no worries about installing this myself I have done many aftermarket radio installs to the point where to me it’s a complicated as putting on a pair of shoes. With Velcro straps even. The problem is I was thinking about picking up an HD tuner to go along with it. Since I’ve never put one of these in before I was wondering what’s involved with installing them and where are you installing them. Do they piggy back into the radio for power or do you have to run an alternate power source. I have an 08 Access cab. Any info would be appreciated

Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
I've never installed on either. Might be worth it for you to call crutchfield.

I've installed my xm receiver only to my eclipse head unit, I believe the hd tuner for it works the same way, but I just connected the power to the same power wire as the main head unit. hope that answer your question.

Is the XM receiver roughly the same dimension's and where did you put it?

If you are looking for space, there's hefty amount of room in under the center console area.

I'm going to steal a picture from Ghost96Romeo, I hope he doesn't mind.

This should give you an idea of what space you have to play with. There's even a small bit of room under that front cubby that sits underneath the cig lighters that you can slip under.

EDIT: I should also mention that disassembling the truck to this stage is a matter of seconds. Unscrew the shifter, and everything pops off upward

Right now it's in my glove comparment. Messy as hell, but I'm too lazy to mount it. when I get ambitous and mount it, I'm going to mount along the firewall by the passengers feet. I've got my blutooth under my shifter, but there is probably room for the xm reciver as well. I think the hd tuner is bigger, but I'm not crushed for space anywhere besides behind the deck itself.
