Locking modifications

I find it strange that the doors don't automatically lock when you reach 7mph or something similar. This is a feature I really wish my truck had. Does anyone know if there are any blocks in the ECU that can be reprogrammed to control this?

 

i've never liked that feature...at least on the chevies we have at work. it ends up not working right and you have to manually unlock the door to get out everytime.

i've not heard of a way to do this...although i don't think you're alone in wanting it. have seen this asked before somewhere.

I am use to VW for which the feature worked as planned...so I have a good impression of it. It was cool because I could also modify it easily by plugging my laptop into the OBDII port. I was hoping the same for this Toyota.

Oh well. I will just get use to pushing 'lock' so I don't get truck-jacked.

 

Yeah, this feature works great in my wife's VW. The doors have locked when we reach 5mph, and sometimes only after driving on the freeway.

VW's quality has taking a serious nose dive lately.

As for your taco..there's a little switch on the arm rest of the driver-side door...try hitting that every time you get in the truck

 

Is that what that is? I couldn't figure out what he key symbol represented.
