I've lived in WV most of my life and have had some close calls with hitting deer but yesterday my luck ran out and hit one going 50 mph on a wide open country road. The insurance adjuster is calling me today. The bumper, fender, and headlight assembly are toast. The passenger door also has a dent. The hood is wedged against the grill and I'm afraid to open it because I may not be able to get it shut. So, I cant see how much damage is under there if any. I guess $3K to fix, my friend thinks $2.5K and my neighbor guesses $5K. What sucks is this falls under my $500 comprehensive deductible.

Update: The grand total to fix this deer carnage comes to $3892. My local Toyota dealership will be doing the repairs.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, the damage isn't too expensive to repair.

The deer fell in the road just before I hit it is why I think the damage was actually less than what I thought is was going to be. That's shit on the bumper and it looks like snot on the passenger door.

Im Saying about 3grand. i hit a deer in my dads truck and had to replace the bumper, grille, passenger side headlight, and driver side tail light:ohsnap: to replace everything it was $2000.02 haha. This was including labor at i think 65 an hours. The front fender was dented but its not noticeable and along with the hood. Both were no replaced so it might have been more. hope you're okay and the bill isnt to much :(

I'm always amazed when I see how little the Tacoma factory bumper is supported at the sides.

Yikes, sorry to hear about your ride...
The dealership where you live outsources their body work, so make sure you know who is working on the truck. They do very little of it there. I investigated that early this year for something else, and was suprised they don't even have paint guns there.

I have noticed a ton of dead deer lately, probably in the last 6 weeks all over the road. Much worse than last year. Clearly the hunters are drunk and missing their shots. :)
