I can't stop buying these things. I have trouble focusing at work unless I've got some of this liquid crack running through my veins. Anyone else?

Anyone have a story they'd like to share with the class about how they quit energy drinks?

I once drank 12 red bulls in 2 hours while on guard duty in Iraq. It was awful, I felt like my heart was going to pop. Not the smartest thing to do in 110* weather. While this story has nothing to do with quitting, I would just like to tell you that you shouldn't do what I did.

Yeah, cheaper than buying coffee though when you buy them in grocery stores. (I don't mean home brew)

    I'm pretty addicted...
Love Redbull, also like the Orange Amp, and the lemonade Rockstar recovery.
I try to stay away from them the best I can, but I usually give in. Probably drink 2-4 a week on average.
I also like 5hr energy since they're so quick (ideal when driving long distances) and give me some good energy and alertness without the caffeine rush some of the energy drinks give me once in a while.

Man... that's almost scary that people need these things to function. The strangest thing to me is that mostly young people drink them - you know, the people that have the most energy, or should. I gave up all soft drinks (mostly Coke, Dr Pepper) a number of years ago. Took a month or so, and then I just stopped craving them. I rarely drink them, nor do I even want them normally - good thing is I save a ton of calories and money now not drinking them, not to mention the health issues. I drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and that's it...

I'm a bit of a marketing whore. It's what I studied. These companies are pros at grabbing my generations attention. I need to quit soda and energy drinks. Honestly, I think I'd probably be alright with coffee and an occasional beer at the end of the week. I just have to force myself to do it.

I by no means need them to function, but working midnight-noon 6 days a week, sometimes I just need a little kick, I also buy them more for the taste than the "energy".

When I worked in racing I was able to have as much Redbull as my heart desired so needless to say I am sick of it. I consumed so much Red Bull in two years now just smelling it makes me want to gag now. The only ones that I will regularly drink now is NOS, NOS Red or Full Throttle Red. I think AMP and Monster taste like dog crap.

Same. That's why I have no interest in the 5 hour energy shot style ones. I'd like to actually have some taste, not just a shot of chemicals.
