    Hey guys, I'm new here...

I'm about to sell my Neon SRT-4 to purchase a Tacoma.:D

Anyhow, I found a 2003 Tacoma, single cab, 5 speed, 4 cylinder, but it has 200k miles on it. I need to call the guy and get more information on it but it looks cherry in the pictures.

Engine bay looks new, exterior looks great... but it still has 200k miles on it.

The ad doesn't mention anything about the timing chain being replaced or anything....

He is asking $4800 obo..is that a fair price? I was thinking about offering 4 flat and see what he says.

theres better deals around. i paid $4700 for my 99 prerunner with 125k on it at the time. id do a little more shopping around before jumping in, and keep in mind the use for the truck DD/weekend warrior or you gonna slam it ? mines only 2wd witch is good for mpg and it surprises me every time i go wheelin. also research any aftermarket parts you may want to add in the future.

    Thanks for the welcomes guys...

Not looking for a 4WD... prefer 2wd, single cab... gas saver and not wanting to go off roading with it. :p

If I did anything... I'd lower it lol....

Not looking to spend a lot of money... 4k is probably my max.

Do yourself a favor, keep it that way! Stay away from the 4x4 fever, I have pissed away most of my savings on this 4x4!

Looks clean. If it was taken care of mileage is kind of a meaningless number with these trucks. They tend to not really ever die.

Thanks guys.... called the guy and that one is sold.

Theres a few others I'm looking at.

I like this one a lot...

It just seems very over priced for a 01 with manual windows and locks...120k miles tho.

Welcome to the group. If you're looking at the 2.7's the timing chain should be a non-issue, it's basically considered a lifetime part that shouldn't need replacing. That first one seemed like a decent price, but I agree with you, $6000 for a 2wd manual is TOO much. Have you looked at prices on autotrader or a similar site to see what local examples are selling for?
