    i dont know what your talking about.

    if i were to own a 2nd gen id look into swapping a manual tcase since i always hear about random issues with the electronic crap.

    but this is why i have a 1st gen :p

    oh just looked it up, i thought the hubs were auto disconnects.. probably why its not ADH lol so yeah your right but the majority of issues come from that little electronic switch on the tcase right? forgot what its called

    old tundras and sequoias have a button to go to 4wd and a stick to change the transfer cast from 4hi to N and to 4lo. i think my fiend's 1st gen is stick only though

    theres a few 1st gens that have that set up as well, i thought it was the weirdest thing when i saw it cause i thought all 1st gens used the regular stick shifter.. i prefer the j-shifter

    so you shift to the side to engage 4x4, and then forward and back to go between hi, n, and lo correct?

    mine is a backwards "J" shape, starting at the top 2wd, down 1 is 4hi, down 2 is neutral, and over and up is 4low

    I think the difference might have been you had your wheels cranked to one side the other day...works best when they're pointed fairly straight in my experience. The gears just need to get lined up. I've had to crawl slowly forward or backward while moving the steering wheel back and forth a bit, put back into neurtral and try again to get 4L0 to engage.

    you have to put it in neutral and have the wheel straight. if the wheels are turned it wont lock in and the buzzer will go off.
