I like it, I thought about getting a double din DVD receiver. I just knew I would cut the safety wire and watch movies while doing 75 down the freeway so I removed the temptation.

Did you get a new dash piece? Wiring harness?

I got the one off ebay for like $375, and ordered all the other parts from Amazon for like $65.

I would check Amazon...use the product id code from the manufacturer. That is how I got my deck for almost 30% off the price on some other websites. I was happy with that.

All it is, is a safety wire that runs to a sensor for detecting if the vehicle is in park. There was a write up on here from one of the guys doing it. I will look around see if I can find it.

See if it has a wire running to the e brake. A friend of mine bought one that had a wire that was supposed to run to the e brake to provide a ground when it was engaged. We grounded it to a piece of the cab and it works great all the time now.

Interesting, I had only seen ones that grounded out to the transmission selector.

All you need is a 5-10 dollar relay and a bit of wire. If you search utube for Pioneer DVD bypass, you should get a hit on a video how-to. It's pretty easy, just a few wires to connect up. The relay adds a delay into the circuit that appears to be required with the Pioneer, a straight ground isn't supposed to work.

BTW, the Pioneer 4100, 4200 and 4300 will all be the same relay wiring.
