Are Jason Camper Tops any good? Please help!!!!

I may be buying a camper top but it is a Jason industries one.

Anybody have one of these?

Are they any good?

How much to color match it?

It isn't carpeted. How hard would it be to get that done?

I also want to put a rack on it but heard that the shell is curved front to back? Anybody run into this?

Anything else would be greatly appreciated!!

Jason Camper Tops. Not such a good deal. Well made I'm sure. Low price for sure.

1) They are one ugly top.

2) Although cheap they usually are unpainted. And add $400+ for a quality paint job and it's no longer such a good deal


My advice is to go with a Raider Vagabond cap or Snugtop. Great quality and looks great. Will outlast your truck.

That is what I was afraid of! I really wanted to carpeted and it isn't. The guy only wants 400 for it but by the time I get it where I want it I probably could have ordered it straight from the dealer how I like it. It isn't a bad looking top in the pics though but it is going to need some work.

I think they're okay. Haven't heard anything bad. Not more than any other cap manufacturer, that is. They're basic, but sometimes basic is good. Like when you just want to hose the damn thing out. The headliner (carpeting) is nice though, because it's not just carpeting .. there's some insulation in there too. So even on a really hot day, it's pretty cool inside my Leer 100XR. I would guess the Jason would heat up a lot more.

 

I have had a few shells over the years from many of the top manufactures. I did not know the Jason line, but they are popular around here, probably due to the price. Since I have been looking recently, they are the best value new. They seem to be built simular to all the others comparing simular models. I just saw they have a $899 special for a basic, cab hi shell. To me, it looks like the entry level ARB shell, but with two rear locks. Everyone else is at least $200-300 more for the same shell. I think if I wanted a standard cab hi shell, I would consider buying a Jason this time around.
BTW, you can add a liner to any shell you purchase, new or used.
