Great find! I don't usually read inside line as well as a few others because they always show a 2010 and say "2012," then show an x runner and say "redesign." Then call the tacoma a car and say its going to have an AM/FM tape deck...but this artical seems more legit due to the reference. Thanks for the post...my hopes continue to be up.

If the exterior styling is being stolen from the 2010 4runner, maybe the interior is too. Here you can see "entune" would fit easily:

I spent alot of time in the new 4runner and the interior is top notch. A little complaint about compass placement, but overall great.

my complaint was that I felt like a midget in it and I'm 5'8. It felt claustrophobic or crammed like everything was standing straight up or was too tall. I cant really explain it. The current layout is more comfortable and natural for me. IDK, maybe I should have adjusted the seat settings a bit. who knows.

Went to the dealer again today and asked again about 2012. He asked what I have heard. I said I expected it to look similar to the 4runner with the 4runner 4.0 and front end styling. He brought out a dealer I recognized and said "expect a leather option too, but shhh." Thought that was a funny way of confirming their expectations too. All this after I was offered 0% APR on a 2011.

I'm not sure dealers really know yet, the best bet is to call regional offices. I called and said I was referred from the national hotline for information on the 2012 tacoma. I had no problems getting info from either of the 2 I called:
    REGIONAL OFFICES:

    • Boston Office (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI) 508-339-5701
    • New York (NY, NJ, CT) 973-575-7600
    • Central Atlantic (PA, VA, WV, MD, DE) 410-760-1500
    • Southeast Region (NC, SC, AL, GA, FL) 954-429-2000
    • Cincinnati Region (MI, OH, KY, TN) 513-745-7500
    • Chicago Region (MN, WI, IL, IN) 630-907-0150

Wow, wish they were offering 0% APR on the 2011s around this neck of the woods... no such luck.

It was supposedly only for five days during a liquidation sale. thats an incredible deal that I have been told dosen't happen to often with the tacomas because "they sell themselves," acording to a dealer I talked with earlier this year. They actually brought Toyotas from all around to this one location for the sales event. Damn I want one...but still waiting for 2012 just in case.

    Same here.

I had to borrow $10,000, (minimum they would lend for the 0%) but the loan actually paid them back LESS than $10.000 over the 36 months.

    $277.77 x 36 ='s.... (Less than 10 grand)

I talked to a buddy of mine that works here at the toyota plant in San Antonio. The New Tacoma is going to have the same body just with the front end simular to the new 4Runner. It will be out before the end of the year. your welcome.

Good info, even though I'm disappointed that it will not be the 3rd gen. I sure hope the deliver dates are only for fleet vehicles and they will be earlier for consumers. I was hoping to buy a 2012 late summer early fall, when they are typically out.

It's aging. If ToMoCo wants it to stay that best truck, they need to update a few things.

The most immediate needs are dual VVT-i, direct injection, and at least another cog in the transmission to get fuel economy competitive again.

Other items could use addressing as well, but they're more minor. The aging powertrain is the elephant in the room right now.
