96', 2.4.5spd- just your basic taco. If we do a lift like the Fabtech, put on taller tires like my son wants....then arent we lookin at rear gearing the differential to bring the power back, esp in 5th gear on the hwy?

I put 235/75/R15s on my 2.4. It had a mild power loss but it really isn't bad. Still enough to spin the rear tires.

I lifted mine with spindles and shackles. There's a link to it in my signature.

if you go to 31s you will be fine. anything bigger you should re gear on the 4 cylinder

2" suspension lift with King Coilovers up front. Standard Bilsteins on rear with a Fabtech 1.5" AAL. Leer 100XL Shell.
Lifts are best achieved through front suspension upgrades and bigger leaf kits... or, like in my case, an add-a-leaf will do, lol.

Depends on how high you wanna go. Around 3" check out old man emu and bilstein with eibach coils. If you want to go higher than 3" you will need to go with a drop bracket lift (fabtech)

I don't think any of those will work with a 5 lugger. Spindles up front and a new leaf pack or shackles/add a leaf depending on how worn your stock leaf pack is. New extended length rear shocks will be needed as well. I think only fabtech makes spindles for the 5 luggers. Fatbob's garage sells a lot of 5lugger lift components as well.

You will feel any tire size increase, I had a 4 cylinder ranger that I went up less than an inch, and it made an irritating difference in acceleration, especially passing. 4 cylinders have enough turning small tires on pickups, an increase in tire doesn't help. I went up 2 inches on my 3.4, and it made an enormous difference, despite what most people predicted. I always try to steer people away from lifting, unless they truly plan to wheel and do all the other proper upgrades to go along with.

I have fabtech spindles and I also found that Doetsch makes a kit

    http://www.doetsch-shocks.com/22.asp

I also don't believe anyone makes spacers for the 1st gen 5 luggers... I searched pretty hard when deciding on what to do with mine.

As For a lift on a 2wd 4 cyl. I would try to find a lift that will fit a 5-lug before worrying whether or not to regear. I have a 2.7 with a 2.5 inch suspension running 265's and i haven't had any noticeable power loss. And I'm also going to 33's here soon.
