The fan is nice, but I'm going to have the alternator re-wound for higher amperage to appease the negligible drop in idle, and have it ready to power up the lights I want to get.

I'm on the fence about the S/C. The 2TR has plenty of power off-road the problem is (stock) the 4.10 gears hold it back. 4.56 are perfect for both on/off road. The S/C is nice, and it shows promise, but a re-gear is cheaper. Like everyone else, however, for the right price, I'll pick it up.

    Stay safe out there bro.

stock 4.10 gears? is your truck manual or auto? the auto has a gear of 3.587 and the manual has a gear of 3.307. and i agree that a gear change would be a good idea to boost low end take off power and what not, but then you will lose your top end significantly, especially with the 4cyl

Good stuff, you caught yourself ;) Mine is a manual, 6 lug, so 4.10's. 4.88 is killer off road, sucks ass if your a commuter. 7 hours of 3500rpms is a no go for this guy. They're coming out tomorrow, and I'll shelf those until I get a daily driver...wonder how 4.88 and a S/C would be

Have you looked into a lunchbox style locker? It's basically an LSD. Richmond gear makes the Powertrax No-Slip. It's drop in, using stock carrier.

Just a quick update on the ride. It has taken a week to have my 4.10's put back in. I pulled apart the 3rd member myself, and had it prepped for regear. Complications came a rise and NOW tomorrow it should finally be done. I have been dying with out my truck. I'm keeping the locker and storing the 4.88's for when it becomes full time off road. That's all I got for now. When I get her back, I'm gonna wire up those damn halo's. Later.

Still no word on my truck. I was told by the owner of the shop that it would be finished today regardless of how long it too. You can see the time stamp for yourself that obviously was not the case. The major mistake made in this process was going off the old school notion that a mans handshake is as good as his word. Personally I feel nothing gets done by being a complete dick, and micro managing. Note, this is a correction to a mistake in the gearing, and I am not paying...BUT OVER A WEEK!! For a days worth of work? I don't know if I should be pissed, disappointed, or worried. Out.

Word man. Shit's gonna get real tomorrow. I'm still holding on that I could get some late ass call. But if it's the case that he needs more parts nothing is open. What chaps my ass the most is that I got no phone calls for updates. I hope we don't have to handle it ourselves.
