It's all in my head at the moment...

I got my Tundra Handles (black) from Sparks Toyota. Cheap and easy too. I thought about painting but the handles are high traffic areas with rings and gloves, etc. If you can open the door, you can install the handles. There is a YouTube video on how to do it. You can also order the lock covers without the lock holes for a complete clean look as long as you have remote entry. If for some reason you lose the fob you can always go over the back seat.

..and for you guys/gals who want fresh air without the buffering. Open the rear hatch window. Get one of those carabiners hook things and some plastic (fake) chain. Got mine at Lowe's. .97 cents a foot. You're only gonna need 3 links. Pop open the back window, hook one end of the chain to the carabiner and then hook that to the window clip. Take the other end (the chain end and push it in where the window latch would go if the window was shut. The locking hook in the latch will close and snap around the chain link end. This tricks the FJ into thinking the window is shut and your interior light and door ajar light will stay off. The 3 links are just enough length to over center the struts to keep an slight upward pressure so the window will not come down close with wind pressure or from a sudden stop. The glass just rests about spare tire level and your pooch can stick their nose out. I drove to Tampa from Columbia SC with this set up and never got gassed out once with carbon monoxide. Also you can listen to the radio without feeling like you are on the roof with the wind. The mileage was a bit improved too. Averaged 21 miles per gallon. No need for the A/C.

When you want to close the window, insert the key, turn it to the right for a 3 beat and the latch releases and unclip the carabiner. Stow and go.

Actually a $1.00 black 9" tarp strap does the same thing. It takes longer to get the window open. Use both "S" hooks and click click.

I need to try this. Anytime I have my back window open I get gassed out. Can you guys have your front windows open? That's when I get the most fumes is if I have the front windows open and the back

Ah, yeah maybe I'm unique since I still have the stupid low hanging tip coming straight out the rear. The TRD kind of turns to the side right? Maybe it catches a different air swirl

We can agree on the uniqueness, Hiway and rural driving with all windows down/open. Still have the same number of brain cells. I think.

    Stock exhaust.

and I would love to take some road trips out to NM and CO and go exploring with the wife and kid and I dont think a 2wd will cut it out in some of the stuff I have seen. I shot myself in the foot with my current taco, im not upside down or anything, but I should have just went ahead and got the 4wd.

I would have to get a trailer and probably one of those trailer hitch cargo rack things for hauling sh*t around town.

Does look pretty high. Doesn't a 4" lift exist for these as well too though?
